A kitchen refurbishment is rarely just a kitchen. Walls come out, floors get levelled, and the electrics and plumbing usually need reworking before a single unit goes in. Because Harcol Ltd are builders rather than kitchen fitters, we handle all of that with our own team instead of leaving you to coordinate three trades yourself.

We refurbish kitchens across Kent, Surrey and Sussex, from replacing units and worktops in an existing layout through to opening a kitchen into a dining room or extension. Whatever the scope, the building work and the finish are handled by one team who are accountable for both.

What a Kitchen Refurbishment Involves

Most kitchen projects we take on include some or all of the following:

Removing walls and fitting structural beams to open up the space
Rewiring, new sockets, lighting and extraction
Moving or renewing plumbing for sinks, appliances and radiators
Levelling floors, plastering and preparing surfaces
Fitting units, worktops, splashbacks and flooring

Working Around Your Home

A kitchen is the room a household can least afford to lose, so we plan the work to keep the disruption as short as we can:

A realistic sequence agreed before work starts
Dust protection and daily clean-down
Services kept running wherever it is safe to do so

We would rather give you an honest timescale at the outset than an optimistic one you later have to work around.

Structural Openings and Layout Changes

Knocking a kitchen through to a dining room or garden room changes how a whole ground floor works, but it is structural work and needs treating as such. We calculate the load, install the right beam, and handle the building control side rather than working around it.

Finishes That Last

The parts of a kitchen that fail first are usually the ones nobody sees: poorly sealed worktops, unsupported units, floors that were never properly levelled. We spend the time on those, because they decide whether a kitchen still looks right in ten years.
